Gordon-Booth Congratulates Peoria-Based Healthcare Centers on Nearly $6 Million in Grant Funding

PEORIA, Ill. – Two Peoria-based healthcare centers have been awarded nearly $3,000,000 each thanks to state grant funding previously secured by state Rep. Jehan Gordon-Booth, D-Peoria.

“While the current federal administration fights to defund our healthcare, medical research and

disparage medical degrees, I’m committed to ensuring access to high quality, affordable healthcare to everyone who calls Peoria home,” said Gordon-Booth. “Peoria is a hub for high quality medical treatment, and these grants will further improve our quality of care.”

As part of the Rebuild Illinois program, Community Health Center Construction Grants support the construction, expansion and development of healthcare centers across Illinois. The program disburses $50,000,000 annually, with a maximum of $3,000,000 per healthcare center. In Peoria County, Solvera Healthcare Center Inc. was awarded $3,000,000 and Heartland Community Health Clinic was awarded  $2,578,362.

“This particular grant is for both literal construction of new health centers or clinics, as well as the improvement of technology and resources within clinics,” said Gordon-Booth. “I’m excited to see how these funds will be used and know the ultimate impact will be even better patient care right in our backyard.”
