April 22 event challenges Loop business leaders to reclaim the narrative with data, strategy, and collective storytelling

We believe businesses in our markets deserve to compete at the highest level, and that starts with better information.”

CHICAGO, IL, UNITED STATES, April 1, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- 1905 New Media, a fourth-generation, family-owned integrated marketing agency and two-time Inc. 5000 honoree, today announced the next installment of its Marketing Disrupted thought leadership series. Reimagining the Loop, a free panel discussion and happy hour event on Wednesday, April 22, from 5:30-7:30 p.m., is co-hosted with the Chicago Loop Alliance.

Reimagining the Loop confronts a tension every Loop business knows but rarely has the tools to address: a media narrative about Chicago that doesn’t match reality. It’s costing businesses foot traffic, talent, and revenue. Chicago recorded its safest year since 1965, yet the headlines tell a different story. Reimagining the Loop will give attendees an unfiltered look at how that perception gap is affecting operations across live, work, and play sectors, along with actionable marketing, branding, and PR strategies built specifically for Loop businesses. 1905 New Media will also present real search and AI data, revealing what consumers are actually asking about the Loop, and how businesses can become the answer.

The free Marketing Disrupted event will be held at Industrious, 33 N. LaSalle St., 2nd Floor, Chicago. Registration is available at 1905newmedia.com/events/reimagining-the-loop-chicago-marketing-disrupted.

A high-caliber panel of Chicago business leaders will lead a panel conversation, moderated by Ariella Gibson, Director of Marketing and Communications at Chicago Loop Alliance. Panelists include Nate Ernst, Principal and Founder of Envoi Partners, who is leading the conversion of a century-old LaSalle Street office building into a 200-unit boutique residential property; Mark Kelly, Chair of the Loop Arts District Caucus and former Commissioner of the City of Chicago’s Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events; and Phil Clement, President and CEO of World Business Chicago and architect of Chicago 2050, the city’s first comprehensive economic strategy in more than a decade. Lindi Schaeffer, Vice President of 1905 New Media, will deliver the keynote presentation offering actionable marketing, branding, and PR strategies.

“The Loop is one of the great commercial and cultural districts in the world,” said John Meilink, President of 1905 New Media. “What we hear from Chicago business leaders is that the perception problem is real and it’s hurting them. Marketing Disrupted exists to put the right tools in the right hands, because the businesses that win this narrative fight won’t wait for someone else to fight it for them.”

Reimagining the Loop marks the third Marketing Disrupted event 1905 New Media has hosted in Chicago, and the 13th in the series overall since its launch in June 2021. The series has hosted more than 10 events in St. Louis, where 1905 New Media is headquartered, before expanding to its Chicago office. With consistent attendance of 75 or more professionals per event, Marketing Disrupted has become a fixture in both cities’ business communities, drawing marketing executives, entrepreneurs, and civic leaders who come for the expertise and leave with strategies they can use immediately. Every event is free and open to the public, a reflection of 1905 New Media’s belief that access to high-caliber marketing knowledge shouldn’t carry a price tag.

“We believe businesses in our markets deserve to compete at the highest level, and that starts with better information,” said Lindi Schaeffer, Vice President of 1905 New Media. “Bringing Marketing Disrupted to Chicago a third time, and partnering with the Chicago Loop Alliance to do it, is exactly the kind of community-building work we’re most proud of.”

Reimagining the Loop is sponsored by 1905 New Media, the Chicago Loop Alliance, and Industrious. Space is limited. Register online at 1905newmedia.com/events/reimagining-the-loop-chicago-marketing-disrupted.
