Redbirds Fall to Hawkeyes in Iowa

CORALVILLE, Iowa – 
Despite eight kills and six blocks from sophomore Khenedi Guest, the Redbirds fell to tournament host Iowa on Friday afternoon on the second day of the Kwik Star Klassic, hosted by the Hawkeyes.

HOW IT HAPPENED


First Set (19-25): The first set saw five tie scores and a lead change, as the Redbirds used a strong early block to jump ahead 5-2 early in the set before the hosts fought back and tied the score at six, seven, and nine. The hosts stretched their lead late in the set, securing the six-point win.

Illinois State University continues strategic enrollment growth

Illinois State University’s total enrollment for the fall 2025 semester is 21,994, an increase of 448 students (2.1%) over last year’s record enrollment. The new record also marks four years of consecutive growth. The first- to second-year retention rate is 81.9%, a .5% improvement. The University’s total student population includes 19,513 undergraduates and 2,481 graduate students. The official enrollment figures were finalized following the tenth day of classes held on Friday, August 29, 2025.
